Seasonal Field Inspection – During the summer inspectors look at seed production fields to determine if diseases are present and determine if seed production fields meet isolation, purity and de-tasseling standards. Duties include walking seed fields and recording plant data. Workload may include long days for brief periods of time as inspections are performed only at certain stages of each crop’s lifecycle. Requirements include reliable transportation, self-motivation, and a willingness to work outside. Training is provided and we pay an hourly wage plus mileage and expenses. Laboratory & Greenhouse – We are always looking for help in the laboratory and greenhouse. Part-time positions, as well as full-time positions, are available. Full-time employment often starts with part-time and seasonal work. With the right attitude, working where needed and willingness to learn, we train you for a career in seed testing. We accept resumes at any time. You must be authorized to work in the US.

Greenhouse duties include preparation, planting and evaluation of growout tests. Work includes preparation and clean up along with general plant care, organizing seed samples, recording test results and other duties as needed. The position will involve working in a greenhouse, and candidates will need to be able to work in environmental conditions which include exposure to dust, soil, sand, plants, water, humidity and high/low temperatures.

Seed Lab duties include preparing planting media, planting seeds, evaluating seedlings, cleanup, organizing seed samples and other duties as needed. Trained employees operate seed moisture testing, air planters and seed counting equipment. The position will involve working in a laboratory and candidates will need to be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. The work conditions can include dust, soil, sand, seeds and plants.

Grain Lab duties include counting seed, grinding samples, organizing samples and other duties as needed. Trained employees operate sample dividers, laboratory size grinders, NIR grain analyzers and other equipment. The position will involve working in a laboratory and candidates will need to be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. The work conditions can include dust, seed and noisy grinding equipment. The Identity Preserved Grain Lab is not currently accepting full-time applications.
